The Department of Social Welfare and Development Region 5 (DSWD-5) announced on Wednesday, February 1, that they are now accepting applications for financial assistance under the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS).
According to DSWD, AICS helps individuals and families recover from unexpected crises including illness, death of a family member, and other crisis situations.
For medical assistance, the documents needed include a photocopy of prescription, original medical certificate, valid ID, and hospital bill.
On the other hand, clients asking for funeral assistance must bring the original documents such as registered death certificate, funeral contract, and valid ID.
For educational assistance, students should present original documents such as certified true copy of validated school ID, and original certificate of enrolment/registration for the current school year.
In transportation assistance, claimants must present a valid ID and other supporting documents, such as justification of the social worker, medical certificate, death certificate, and court order or subpoena. Victims of pickpockets, illegal recruitment, etc. should submit a police blotter or certification.
The agency reminded the clients to provide an original certificate of residency from the barangay if their valid ID has no address.
