𝗦𝗘𝗡. 𝗟𝗘𝗚𝗔𝗥𝗗𝗔 𝗜𝗦 𝗔𝗖𝗖𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗧𝗔𝗕𝗟𝗘 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗦𝗨𝗣𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗧𝗛𝗘
𝗖𝗣𝗣-𝗡𝗣𝗔-𝗡𝗗𝗙 -- 𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗠𝗘𝗥 𝗥𝗘𝗕𝗘𝗟𝗦' 𝗚𝗥𝗢𝗨𝗣
As a long-term ally of the CPP NPA NDF, Senator Loren Legarda now pushes to review the Anti-Terror Act of 2020. In her privilege speech last August 30, she said that the CPP-NPA-NDF is an organization of social justice and she does not recall that the Philippine government has declared this group terrorist.
She is even proud of admitting that she has been working with them for a long time, and she admires them! Such pronouncement is like oxygen to the dying communist terrorist group – the CPP-NPA-NDF. Clearly, amidst the fact that she is a full colonel of the military reserve corps, her allegiance is not to the Republic but to the enemy of the Republic.
Like the civil bureaucracy work of the CPP-NPANDF, she is using her title and power to topple the government from within.
It is outrageous for us, former rebels, that by simply reading CASER, she has categorized the CPP-NPA-NDF as friends of the state. Obviously, Sen. Legarda wants to pursue the bogus peace talks the NDF is pursuing.
CASER or the Comprehensive Agreement on Socio-Economic Reforms is the second agenda of the 4-pt The Hague Joint Declaration between the Government of the Philippines and the CPP-NPA-NDF last September 1, 1992 (exactly 30 years ago). Sen. Legarda is misled that the latter will really surrender. It is clearly stated in agenda #4 of the same declaration that the NPA will not surrender, but simply “end hostilities and claim a territory”. During our educational discussions when we were still with the communist terrorist group, peace talks is just an instrument to hasten the overthrow of the democratic government. We were always reminded that above all, the armed struggle should be put first, not peace talks, nor partylists’ work in Congress.
Talking about CASER, at its surface, a mere scholar may look at it as an act of social justice. But not for us, who were in the rural areas and who have implemented the content of CASER. CASER is a violent instrument of the CPP-NPA-NDF to kill the owners of large tracts of land in order to temporarily distribute it to the landless in order to gain their support. And later, the communist state will confiscate these lands and will declare it as state-owned. Farmers will be required to work inhumanely, with meager subsidy from the state. This happened in China during the reign of communism under Mao Zedong’s leadership.
Also, under CASER, national industries especially those that
manufacture goods, will be destroyed. It’s like giving a wrecked toy to a child -- because the communists believe that only through destroying the economy will political power be obtained. Clearly, CASER’s terminologies are sugar-coated and made to deceive the Filipino people, especially our public officials to lure them into the CPP-NPA-NDF’s instigated peace talks.
Also, it doesn’t mean that urban operatives and allies of the CPP-NPA-NDF are harmless or worst, should not be considered terrorists as Sen. Legarda is saying. The atrocities of the NPA are under the absolute leadership of the CPP.
Thus, the CPP is even more accountable than the arm-bearing NPA!
We call on Sen. Legarda to resign or the Filipino people will impeach you!
We are also calling on other senators to stand for the truth and let Sen. Legarda be held accountable for her acts of
conspiracy with the CPP-NPA-NDF.
